Case study eCommerce development

How Provis builds LGXNDS's Shopify Plus store, from pricing to checkout.

LGXNDS sells sports nutrition and men's health supplements, and branded apparel, to customers in the United States. Provis works on its Shopify Plus store as a store collaborator: a new product page, a redesigned homepage, multi-buy pricing and a checkout of its own.

At a glance

  1. Problem

A store built up by several agencies, where pricing, checkout and content changes were fragile and slow to ship.

  2. Solution

Automatic multi-buy discounts, a checkout extension of its own, a lighter homepage, and a product page filled from product data.

  3. Result

One correct price source on 12 products, a checkout the team can change, a mobile hero video of 5.7 MB instead of 17.8 MB that starts in 13 seconds on slow 4G instead of 30, and 111 images on the Best Sellers page instead of 409.

Ongoing: Provis has worked on the store since April 2026

Provis Technologies has been an excellent partner for our Shopify work. Their team moved quickly on fixes, improved the experience of the store, and helped us turn ideas into working features without unnecessary delay.

The situation

A store that several agencies had changed, and that was hard to change safely.

LGXNDS sells supplements and apparel direct to US customers, with a gated area for trade customers. The theme was built by another agency and several others changed it after. Subscriptions ran on Seal and reviews on Okendo.

This is how a customer bought, and where the store held the team back.

How a customer bought on the old store

  1. Homepagea 17.8 MB hero video
  2. Collection pagefound products by collection
  3. Product page and cartmulti-buy offers as duplicate "pack" products
  4. Checkouta header nobody could change

Each step on the old store, and what held it back.

The problems, and what fixed each

Four problems, each fixed at the root.

These are four problems Provis found on the store, and what fixed each.

  1. Multi-buy pricing broke inventory and drifted

The beef protein 2-pack did not track stock, so selling 2 tubs took nothing off inventory. Glutamine packs drifted to 16.6% and 21.3% off, and Estro Cease X to 19% and 23.5%, after base prices changed and nobody repriced the packs.

What Provis builtShopify automatic discounts on the real product

Buy 2 save 12% and Buy 3 save 15%, on one-time purchases only, and the product page shows the ladder. The discount is a percentage of the real product, so stock stays right and the price cannot drift. It never stacks with the 15% subscription discount. Live on 12 products.

  2. The checkout header was locked

The value props stacked onto 3 lines on mobile. The source of the other agency's app was lost, so nobody could fix it.

What Provis builtA checkout extension of Provis's own

It shows a compact row on mobile and a fuller row on desktop, switched by screen width. The settings match the old block, so the setup carried over unchanged. A Shopify Function gives subscriptions free shipping. Checkout changes no longer depend on another agency.

  3. The homepage was heavy and hard to change

A 17.8 MB hero video loaded on the homepage. A price bug also showed $28.16 in one place and $28 in another.

What Provis builtA poster-first hero and a rebuilt homepage

The poster shows first and the video loads after, and phones get a separate 720p video of 5.7 MB. The homepage was rebuilt from the client's Figma redesign: 9 new sections and a site-wide footer. On slow 4G the hero video now starts in 13 seconds, not 30 (19 October 2026). The Best Sellers page loads 111 images, down from 409, and blog images are 0.6 to 0.7 MB, down from 1.8 to 3.7 MB. The team measured all of these.

  4. Work kept getting lost

A live theme sync once deleted a whole landing page build. It was recovered from a backup.

What Provis builtEach agency's work in its own files, with a check before any sync

Each layer lives in its own named files, and styles are scoped per section, so one agency's work cannot overwrite another's. Every sync is checked against the live theme first.

How the work ran

Built in four phases, with checkout in the last.

  1. Phase 1, April to July 2026Shopify fixes, a macro calculator and theme work
  2. Phase 2, August 2026Product page V2, homepage redesign sections, apparel product page, GovX page, announcement bar, Videowise widgets and multi-buy pricing
  3. Phase 3, September 2026Tabbed mobile menu, Trustpilot badge, Text Club with Postscript and blog reading improvements
  4. Phase 4, October 2026YouTube band, AfterShip tracking page, free shipping at $75, the checkout extension, brand colour moved to dark teal, card badges, Resources hub and a product tag system in draft
  • What was built: a product page filled from product data, a redesigned homepage, a tabbed mobile menu and a Resources hub.

    Shopify
  • Pricing: Buy 2 save 12% and Buy 3 save 15%, applied by Shopify automatically on 12 products.

  • Hardest part: working safely on a theme several agencies had changed, with live syncs that could wipe work, and only collaborator access.

Checkout:

The checkout no longer depends on another agency.

The old checkout header sat inside another agency's app, and its source was lost. Provis built a checkout extension of its own to replace it.

A collaborator cannot install a custom app, so the store owner approved the install.

Subscriptions ship free automatically, through a Shopify Function.

After launch

Provis is still working on it.

Provis works on the store as a store collaborator, and the latest work at the time of writing is a product tag system, in draft on 19 October 2026.

The client can now edit product page content through product data without a developer, change the checkout props themselves, and run multi-buy offers without duplicate products.

Provis has delivered 200+ projects since 2012, with a team of 25+ engineers, designers, QA and project leads.

Every Provis build comes with 24/7 monitoring and support after launch.
